A thin aluminium column about the width of two fingers, with a small acrylic head at the top. No cord, no base to speak of — it takes up almost no room on a table, which is the point.
Touch the body to switch it on. The battery charges in about three hours over USB and then runs for three at full brightness or up to ten turned down. Warm 3000K light, fixed at one level.
It's built to be moved: bedside overnight, kitchen counter in the morning, out to a balcony table for dinner. Two heights, 40 cm and 45 cm.
