A slim silver metal frame carrying a deep, richly toned acrylic shade. The frame is spare enough to disappear, so what you see is the colour of the shade and the glow coming through it.
At 40 cm it's a proper statement lamp rather than a bedside piece — sized for a sideboard, console, dresser, or the corner of a living room where it can act as the main source of evening light. Takes a standard screw-in bulb.
Choosing a shade colour: Clear reads cool and architectural, with the bulb visible through it — a filament bulb looks best here. Cream is the warm neutral that suits almost any room. Brown is the warmest of the four, an amber-bronze glow. Green is deep and sage-toned, and comes into its own in a study or a book-lined room.
